Open Submission for The Event 2011
Monday, May 9th, 2011BCAF is currently seeking projects from artists and curators in the UK for inclusion in The Event 2011, to take place 21 – 30 October.
We have bursaries of £1,500 available for projects that will take place in the Eastside district of Birmingham alongside a programme of exhibitions, events and projects by regional, national and international artists and organisations.
Central to The Event this year is Symposion, an evening of performance curated by Boris Ondreička of Tranzit.org, with a line up of international artists, theorists and musicians responding to The Symposion, a philosophical text by Plato, concerned with the genesis, purpose and nature of love. The themes in Symposion will be felt throughout the festival and should be taken on board in proposed projects.
For more information on The Event and previous festivals please see the archive pages on the left.
Birmingham Contemporary Art Forum is currently made up of representatives from AAS, An Endless Supply, Companis, Crowd 6, Eastside Projects, Grand Union, Slice, The Lombard Method, and Trove.
Application process:
The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Monday 6th June 2011. Proposals received after the deadline cannot be considered.
Proposals must include the following information compiled into one document:
