This is an invitation to dialogue. John invites you to participate in a conversation. John will be participating in conversation between 9.00am and 5.00pm in Digbeth High Street on November 6th, 2009.

As part of the artist/researcher John Hammersley’s ongoing investigation into dialogue as mode of practice and understanding in contemporary art, the artwork This is an invitation to dialogue explores the possibility and difficulties of achieving a dialogue as artwork in a public setting. The artist theorises the work as a possible fusion of horizons through which the relational work of dialogue can reveal the potential shared dialogical dimension of conversation and art.
